ELECTRON BEAM THERAPY
Electron beam radiation therapy is a type of radiation therapy that uses a beam of high-energy electrons to treat cancer. It is often used to treat skin cancers, lymphomas, and other types of cancer close to the surface of the skin.
Unlike other types of radiation therapy that use X-rays, which penetrate deeper into the body, electron beam radiation therapy only penetrates to a shallow depth, typically up to a few centimeters. This makes it an effective treatment for superficial cancers, while minimizing the risk of damage to nearby organs. The treatment is typically given over several weeks, with each session lasting only 2-3 minutes.
